Pain-Disability Prevention (PDP) Program: Treatment for Reducing Pain-Related Disability
Dr. Kwan has completed a certificate program in Pain Disability Prevention (PDP) Program and is offering treatment using this approach. The PDP Program is developed by Dr. Michael Sullivan, Professor of Psychology and Medicine and Canada Research Chair in Behavioural Health at the University Centre for Research on Pain and Disability Centre, McGill University. PDP is an evidence based 10-week program for preparing people to resume daily activities and to return to work. Visit www.pdp-pgap.com for more information.
Neuropsychological Assessments for Adults
The adult neuropsychological assessment services are designed to provide evaluations for the purpose of diagnosing, clarifying, and confirming disability due to neuropsychological impairment including traumatic brain and/or spiral cord injury, stroke, dementia, and other psychological and behavioral disturbance. The assessment service is offered by a registered psychologist in clinical psychology and clinical neuropsychology.
Speech / Language Pathology Services
Ms. Thanh Hoang, M. Sc., Reg.CASLPO and Ms. Janice Liu, M. Sc., Reg.CASLPO are registered speech pathologists joining us on a part-time basis. They have worked with both children and adult populations in a variety of clinical settings, including rehabilitation centres, schools, hospital and community agencies with diverse presenting issues including dysphagia, voice disorders, acquired brain injury rehabilitation and early childhood speech and language development. Speech / language pathology services at Oshawa Psychological & Counselling Services include prevention, identification, evaluation and treatment of congenital and acquired communication disorders serving both children and adult populations.
Family Mediation
Ms. Donna Wilson, M.Ed., Cert. FRM (F.M.C.), Acc. FM (O.A.F.M.) is a Certified Family Relations Mediator and Accredited Family Mediator with the Ontario Association for Family Mediation. She will provide mediation services to address various family related matters including custody and access, parenting plans and child support issues. She also has experience in conducting workplace mediations to address disputes and conflicts in the workplace.
