Dr. Jessica Abrams is a school and clinical psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto and she received her M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical-Developmental Psychology from York University. Dr. Abrams provides comprehensive psychological assessment to children and adolescents with a range of academic, cognitive, social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties to guide educational and treatment planning. Dr. Abrams has experience working with a range of presenting concerns including: autism, attention deficit, hyperactivity, learning difficulties, academic problems, anxiety, depression, behavioural difficulties, self-regulation, bullying, social skills, and peer relations. She has worked in the field of autism and developmental disabilities for over 10 years, with experience in intensive behaviour intervention (IBI/ABA), teaching, consultation, diagnosis, and research. Her dissertation research was funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and explored social processing and bullying experiences of children with ASD. Dr. Abrams completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Hospital for Sick Children and her clinical practica at Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and Oshawa Psychological and Counselling Services. She has also worked as an instructor therapist at Surrey Place Centre. Currently, Dr. Abrams also works at the Durham Catholic District School Board. She is a member of the Ontario Psychological Association (OPA).
